Abby Spelling

Abby can spell her first AND last name!  She's beginning to spell Mommy and Daddy too, but often forgets the 'o' and 'a'.  

The other day she saw a neon sign for "Blue Moon" and Abby pointed out - "Mommy, that says Mommy".  I had to point out that while it didn't say Mommy, it did have similar letters.  

She can also hear a word and then identify what letter it starts with.  She's such a smart girl!  I can say that right, as her mother?  

I think we'll have an early reader on our hands...

Fall Festival

We went to a Fall Festival this weekend.  There was a ton of kid friendly things to do and the weather was great!  What was even better was that the place wasn't crowded at all, so when we wanted to ride the ride again, we could without waiting in line.  

 Afterwards, we went out to get some food - we weren't thrilled with the food choices or prices at the fall festival.  I love how Abby is looking and interacting with Jacob.  She must be getting used to his presence because she's been doing that a lot more.

Family Photos

We had a family photo shoot when Jacob was 3 weeks old.  The husband of a co-worker does photography on the side and so we asked him to document Jacob's newborn-ness, Abby's new big sister status and being almost 3 and then some photos of our new family of four.  We wound up with some great photos!  

We were worried that Abby wasn't going to cooperate as toddlers tend to have their own agenda.  Especially since we met at a park and there was a friend that she knew there.  However, she suprised all of us and did GREAT!  We were able to pull her away from playing to take great photos AND hold Jacob!  

Jacob is one month old

Jacob is already one month old.  How does time fly so quickly?  He is proving to be a laid back chill baby.  Thank you; I'll take it!  It seems he cries when he's tired or REALLY hungry.    He's a great sleeper.  From the beginning he was sleeping at least 4-5 hours at night.  I have had to wake him up sometimes to feed!  

 Such a handsome boy!
